Case study

City Rail Link

A NZD4.4billion project, City Rail Link is the new underground rail network across Auckland city, allowing over 50,000 passengers per day. The infrastructure consists of twin tunnels connected by four stations from the Auckland waterfront to Mount Eden.

What did we deliver?

RDCL was involved in the geotechnical investigation stages supplying wireline geophysics to the Link Alliance, allowing designs of tunnelling and stations to better understand the fractures and defects of different geotechnical units, and supply seismic engineering data for structural engineering of the underground stations.

RDCL has Auckland based staff and tooling enabling easy deployment of assets to various sites across Auckland to complete Wireline Geophysics. The drilling schedule was often confirmed last minute, due to management of traffic, businesses and access at constrained site locations. RDCL deployed to testing locations within the hour of call up, with equipment on hand and ready to go.
