Senior Geotechnical Engineer
RDCL is on the hunt for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Wellington office and play a pivotal role in delivering smart, practical engineering solutions across Aotearoa. - Lead and deliver geotechnical assessments across a broad range of sectors; infrastructure, land development, mining and civil works.
- Prepare and review high-quality reports, designs, and geotechnical models
- Provide technical input across all stages of project delivery, from scoping to execution
- Work closely with geotechnical engineers, geologists, geophysicists, and technicians to deliver integrated solutions
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development
- Build strong relationships with clients and help identify new business opportunities
- Support health & safety, quality, and project delivery best practices across the business
- A relevant engineering degree (Geotechnical or Civil);
- Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
- At least 8 – 10 years’ experience in geotechnical consulting in New Zealand or similar setting
- Proven experience delivering site investigations, slope stability, retaining wall, foundation design, and construction support
- Familiarity with local ground conditions, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent report writing, analysis and communication skills
- Strong project management experience and a proactive approach to problem solving
- A passion for mentoring others and contributing to team development
- NZ residency or valid NZ work visa & clean full NZ driver’s license
- To be proficient with Microsoft Office and attention to detail with numerical datasets
- A strong health and safety awareness
- Able to travel across NZ during the working week & capable to work outdoors
- Excellent communication skills
