SEISMIC SITE CLASS
WELLINGTON + NEW ZEALAND
IT'S NOT ALWAYS A GREEN FIELD SITE
One of the challenges of obtaining useful geophysics data for Site Class Assessments is working within the confines of established buildings and infrastructure.
RDCL's Surface Wave Seismic is a non-intrusive technique that can be used along roads, footpaths, within basements and natural ground.
RDCL carries out MASW surveys throughout New Zealand, providing shear-wave velocities for Site Class Assessment, in accordance with NZS1170.5.
Our MASW surveys provide the data needed to assist with classification of ground for Site Class A to E. This in turn allows structural engineers to design buildings which are able to withstand the variation in ground conditions..
RDCL have conducted many projects in Wellington from commercial multi-storey buildings to historic churches, such as the Cathedral of St Paul.
