Seismic site testing in Wellington: it's not always a green field site

1/1

One of the challenges of obtaining useful geophysics data for Site Class Assessments is working within the confines of established buildings and infrastructure.

RDCL's Surface Wave Seismic is a non-intrusive technique that can be used along roads, footpaths, within basements and natural ground.

RDCL carries out MASW surveys throughout New Zealand, providing shear-wave velocities for Site Class Assessment, in accordance with NZS1170.5.

Our MASW surveys provide the data needed to assist with classification of ground for Site Class A to E. This in turn allows structural engineers to design buildings which are able to withstand the variation in ground conditions.

RDCL have conducted many projects in Wellington from commercial multi-storey buildings to historic churches, such as the Cathedral of St Paul.
