The Economy and Hiring Geotechnical Engineer and Mining Engineer
We think the economy is still hard. We move through the land development, infrastructure and mining sectors. We know that bank loaning to land development at least in New Zealand remains very tight. As a result, development is strangled – we don’t know what the demand side is like, but cash through to developers is still difficult.
The global economy remains weak in Europe – a story we should all know by now. But Asia and the “producing” economies like China and Japan which “make things” and therefore consume raw materials are growing. We like Asia, have worked in the environment for many years and see it as our future.
At home, it’s about water, coal and gold for us. New Zealand is a primary producer and our primary product demands water. We are lucky to have enough now, but don’t see that as the long term case without careful management.
So…where are we at ?
We are looking to hire a:
- Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our Hawkes Bay office. You will be comfortable “all round” in civil and mining work, preferably with dam capability, and
- Mining Engineer for work in New Zealand and Asia.
RDCL invests heavily in training, and business development. Our people are excellent and our capability has deepened every year in operation. We want people to contribute to our team and the capability of our company.
