Cam Wylie is an Institute of Professional Engineers NZ (MIPENZ) Chartered Professional Engineer(CPEng) practising in Geotechnical engineering, and an Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) Certified Professional (CP) in Mine Geotechnics.
He is the Principal of RDCL and leads the consulting team with “boots on” involvement in most projects . His current work includes “Definitive” and pre-feasibility studies through to operational support in the North and South Islands of New Zealand and overseas.
Cam is the Chairman of the NZ Branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), and Hawkes Bay area representative for the Association of Consulting Engineers NZ (ACENZ). He is a member of a wide range of professional organisations reflecting his interest across the business.
Cam has 20 years involvement in geotechnical practice and has held senior company positions in leading consulting businesses in Asia and New Zealand. His countries of work include Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Chile and Malaysia.
Cam’s project experience includes open pit and underground mines, mine waste storage facilities, dams, roads, pipelines, foundations and land developments. He has worked in a wide range of geotechnical conditions including hard and soft rock, and tropical, erosive, swelling clay, and volcaniclastics soils, and steep, landslide prone terrain. He has particular construction experience in tropical, high rainfall conditions. Cam’s commodity experience includes coal, Ni laterites, gold, copper and base metals.
Cam and his wife Angela have 3 ‘robust’ boys aged 11, 9 and 6 and family is a big part of his life.
