src='http://www.rdcl.co.nz/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> ) we have begun new coal mining projects in New Zealand, a copper project in the Philippines, CPT testing in Dunedin and Christchurch and finished work in Melbourne and West Australia.</p><p>And the Wylie family drove from Alice Springs via Uluru and Kakdau to Darwin in a campervan.</p><p>A big month (2 months ?) had by all !!</p><p>The pace isn&#8217;t slowing in November.  RDCL is looking forward to a BIG AusIMM conference and launch of the Austmine NZ branch. Both events with which we are heavily involved. Our response is to up our engagement across industry bodies to support our clients and staff <a
href="http://www.rdcl.co.nz/about-rdcl/professional-development-and-affiliations/">(RDCL &#8211; Professional Development &amp; Affiliations)</a>.</p><p>RDCL company and staff are members of numerous technical societies and industry groups <a
href="../"> </a>representing and serve on national, branch and local committees including:</p><ul><li>NZ Branch committee of the AusIMM (<a
href="http://www.ausimm.co.nz">www.ausimm.co.nz</a>; and <a
href="http://www.ausimm.com.au/">www.ausimm.com.au</a>),</li><li>ACENZ representative for Hawkes Bay (<a
href="http://www.acenz.org.nz">www.acenz.org.nz</a>),</li><li>NZ Contractors Federation Hawkes Bay regional committee (<a
href="http://www.nzcontractors.co.nz/">www.nzcontractors.co.nz</a>), and</li><li>NZ Minerals Industry Association national committee (<a

href="http://www.rdcl.co.nz/conferences-attended-and-presentations-made-by-rdcl-team/cam-wylie-elected-as-chairman-nz-branch-australasian-institute-of-mining-and-metalurgy-ausimm/"> ... read more</a>]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cam Wylie was privileged to be elected Chairman of the New Zealand Branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) at the institute&#8217;s AGM held in late August, 2009.</p><p>The AusIMM is the principal institute representing professionals within the mining sector in Australia and New Zealand, with about 250 people in New Zealand.  The NZ Branch is historical, providing strong support to students, with excellent conferences and presence in the sector.  With this background Cam considers it an honour to be elected to this position and looks forward to upholding the traditions of the group.</p><p>Mining is a cornerstone of the NZ economy producing over $2billion in export earnings, or 2 x the value of the wine industry combined.  The historical importance of mining is represented in the crossed hammers in the 4th quarter of the shield in the NZ coat of arms <a
href="http://www.mch.govt.nz/coat-of-arms.htm">(http://www.mch.govt.nz/coat-of-arms.htm)</a>.</p><p>New Zealanders can be found on almost any mine site in Australia, Asia and the Pacific and throughout the world.  We produce excellent, qualified and skilled graduates sought for our technical abilities and &#8220;can do&#8221; attitude.  One of RDCL&#8217;s goals is to export mine services from New Zealand.</p><p>Cam is very pleased to be at the forefront of the awakening debate concerning the drive for productivity, raising of national living standards and use of the vast asset base that is New Zealand&#8217;s mineral wealth.</p> ]]></content:encoded> <wfw:commentRss>http://www.rdcl.co.nz/conferences-attended-and-presentations-made-by-rdcl-team/cam-wylie-elected-as-chairman-nz-branch-australasian-institute-of-mining-and-metalurgy-ausimm/feed/</wfw:commentRss> <slash:comments>0</slash:comments> </item> </channel> </rss>
